Summary: Revere, a name I grew up with
Comment: I always heard Mom talk about her Revere Ware. So when I got out on my own my first set of cookware was Revere Ware, even when everyone was buying T-Fal. Years later I still have mine and I know others that have been through two or three sets. I also have some Farberware just because we needed additional pieces, but I still prefer cooking in the Revere pans. I recently picked up a set on clearance at a local store and I can't wait to give it to my sister as a housewarming. (She grew up with the name too.)

No matter what I cook it's easy to clean and I like the even cooking. If this cookware was good enough for my parents it's good enough for me.

Summary: Not what I expected!
Comment: This Revere 1400 Line is very light-weight with lids that don't fit. The bottom surfaces aren't flat, and the pans wobble on my glass top range. Steam escapes because the lids are very loose. After boiling water in the pans, spots appeared on the inside surface. I thought this could be the last set of pots and pans I bought, but that's not the case. Revere should be ashamed of the quality of these pans manufactured in Indonesia.

Summary: 43 years and still cooking
Comment: I was looking at the copper clad Revere because I wanted to replace my aged 10 inch fry pan. Sadly, I could not find a skillet with a lid so, having read one of the reviews that "panned" RevereWare, I indeed purchased Farberware. In the early 1960's RevereWare was about the best available. As I said, my entire set is still in active use after FORTY THREE YEARS. My skillet lost a rivet in the handle and looks pretty bad at this point, so I decided to purchase Farberware because their skillet had a lid. I can't compare the two because RevereWare may now be a bit heavier. If there have been no changes, the Farberware is heavier and of course is not copper clad. (Had I been a bit brighter 43 years ago I never would have requested copper clad bottoms for wedding/shower gifts.) Anyway, for the price and durability I cannot see how anyone can criticize RevereWare. Just get the stainless unless you LOVE to clean pot bottoms!

Summary: 23 years and still cooking...
Comment: This cookware was a wedding gift. I use it on an almost daily basis. Of course, I have more expensive pots and pans but I always reach for the Revere. It heats fast and cleans easily. It is durable and I have been pleased with it for many years.

Summary: Buy the Farberware set instead...
Comment: Revere is the cheapest brand of quality cookware out there. I have several Revereware pans and they have proved to be sturdy performers... But, I prefer the shape, looks, feel and finish of the Farberware sets, which are a little bit more. The Revere pans have been relegated to the back of the cupboard, and are now used rarely. The shiny copper bottoms also are very hard to keep clean. Bottom line: If you want the cheapest set of quality cookware you can find, but this set. But if you can spring for a little more, buy the Farberware.
