Customer Rating: Summary: Disapointed Comment: Was so excited to finally have a real mixer! And it has been wonderful, I really have loved it for mixing. After the first year the black knob on the front just split apart and fell off! We have now owned our mixer for about 4 years, light use only. Last month the beaters quit running, I would guess the gears are plastic and stripped. Not sure what to do now? Maybe they are all made with plastic parts inside, or maybe the artisan is a better built machine? I'm sold on stand mixers, just not on kitchen aid!
Customer Rating: Summary: Pooped out after 4 years of use Comment: I use a mixer pretty heavily..bread dough a few times a week and long brioche mixing cycles, in addition to the usual cakes and cookies. This mixer has worked pretty well, but this weekend it burned out on a batch of Massa Souada (portugese sweet bread). It went clunkity clunk and then quit turning on :-(.
I really expected to have this mixer for a long time, so I'm a little disappointed
Customer Rating: Summary: I bought this gem a couple of years ago Comment: and have been more than happy with it. It is, I think, the low end of the Kitchenaid mixers, much like the classic. But I also think, from all the reviews I have read that this one will out do and out last the pricier and admittedly prettier Artisian series. I am not an uber baker, so I cannot say how long this would last if I baked everyday. With a little care I think a long time. The directions are very clear about what speeds to use and what amount of specific flours that should be used to ensure that the motor can handle the work. I do make more bread now than I used to, the ease of letting the mixer knead for 10 minutes while I am free to do other things in the kitchen is wonderful. Also for those big holiday meals this takes the work out of everything from baking to mashing potatos. Highly recomended.
Customer Rating: Summary: KitchenAid 2 Liter Mixer Comment: This is my pride of ownership equipment. There is not enough good I can say of recommendation. Worked super right out of box. Do not know why I did not acquire this unit many years ago. Is a treasure in the kitchen.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good Value Comment: Good bang for the buck. Wife enjoys using. Has a large footprint, but that is typical for a Kitchen aid. I wish this one had come with more accessories.
