Summary: Avoid this Villaware panini grill
Comment: Had this for a year or two and it stopped working completely. There is NO customer support from the manufacturer. Worked great til it died, but should not have died so soon. Would not buy again.

Summary: Heavy and a challenge for storage GREAT
Comment: Great baker - we love the Panini we get from it - but storage is a challenge. It is large which means we get several sandwiches at a time but takes significant space in cabinet. Sandwiches are just like we had in Italy - great to put together ahead of time for parties and then just bake as needed.

Summary: Very professional, perfect everytime.
Comment: I love to turn all ordinary sandwiches into panini sandwiches. The pros to this one are: 1. Compact enough that I can store in pull out cabinetry below countertops, and lightweight enough to pull out every time I want to use it. 2. The grill tops are easy to clean by wiping down with damp sponge; I never use to cook raw meats (use a grill or George Foreman press for that). 3. The double hinge means my sandwiches are evenly pressed from front to back and they never split from being pressed down too much in one spot. 4. It's quick to heat up; by the time I'm done preparing the sandwich to press, the grill is hot enough to use.

Now, my only con: 1. It doesn't have an on/off switch. This just scares me everytime I unplug it to store it away as it 'zaps' back at me. And, even if you plan to keep it on your countertop, you'll still have to unplug it. But, I guess that forces some to be environmentally friendly.

Summary: Quick Cooking
Comment: Order this panini press and then find a good deli or specialty grocery and stock up on asiago, parmasean, fontina cheeses; mortadella, proscuitto, salami meats; some pesto, olive tapinade, a little fresh baby arugala and a loaf of sliced artisan bread and when the grill arrives you can have great food on the table in less than 15 minutes. We like to make three or four combinations and then cut them in half to share the multiple flavors. Finish with some Nutella spread on crust trimmed bread and you even have dessert.

Editorial Reviews:

Naturally this makes splendid panini, toasting the bread and melting the cheese inside to perfection. But consider the other possibilities, burgers, swordfish steaks, bratwurst, veggies and chicken, to name a few! Unwanted fat and liquids drain into an external cup while your food gets cooked evenly, both sides simultaneously, for quick and tasty results. You'll love the sturdy feel of the restaurant-style handle, and the ease of clean up afforded by the non-stick surface.
