Summary: One of the most used appliances in my kitchen
Comment: The Vitamix isn't perfect, but if mine broke tomorrow it would be replaced the next day. This blender will blend just about anything. I swear, I could probably throw in a 2 X 4 and it would pulverize it into sawdust! The thing sounds like an airplane taking off but it sure does the job. I've used it to make smoothies, soups, drinks, slushies, and baby food consistency meats for sick pets. I used to use a juicer but when I saw how much pulp and fiber was discarded, it just didn't seem right. With the Vita-Mix I retain all that fiber but it's so pulverized and well blended that you can't even tell it's there.
Can't get your kids or husband to eat enough salads? Throw all the greens into the Vita-Mix with some pineapple or part of a lemon, whatever other fruits you have on hand, half a banana to make the whole thing hang together and the secret ingredient: a hand full of blueberries. The color of the blueberries will cover up any hint of the greens and, voila, you have them drinking a smoothie with "hidden salad".
Creamed soups are a snap in this blender. Mixed drinks are a breeze since ice cubes aren't a problem. I find myself using it all the time.
The only drawbacks for me are the noise (I don't use it when anyone is sleeping) and it can be hard to get pureed foods that are thick out of the bottom of the jar. I have to use a small spatula for that. But the blender is a workhorse and I can't imagine using any other kind.

Comment: If you enjoy fruit or green smoothies you will want to get this Vita-Mix, it grinds up whole fruits and vegetables easily and effortlessly. Enjoy!

Comment: OK, so I know you're thinking "do I really need to spend $350+ on a blender?" Well if it was just an ordinary blender, I'd agree. But, this is no ordinary blender. This is a blender/food processor/spice chopper/ice chopper/smoothy maker etc.. all in one. It grinds seeds and grains into flour, literally in seconds. I buy whole wheat berries and throw them into the' Turboblend' for a few seconds until it turns into a flour then add a little olive oil and water and make delicious flat breads on the stove.(bread that is actually good for you!) When you blend raisins or apples or anything for that matter, it blends to such a smooth consistency that there are no chunks or pieces left. Of course if you want it left chunky just blend it for less time. Anyway, this is a great machine and by the way, clean up is a breeze. Stop thinking about it and just buy it!

Comment: Can't say enough good things about my Vita Mix other than I use it every day since I started to make better and healthier choices for me and my family.
It's a must for smoothies and protein shakes not to mention home made salad dressings, soups, etc, etc. You will never regret the purchase and find tons of uses for it - I know I do.

Now this is literally a workhorse (actually 2+ workhorses) of a blender! The winning combination of a commercial quality powerful motor and a blade design that sucks the ingredients in for incredibly thorough blending, results in smooth, uniform consistency. It has a standout warranty, and an unbreakable jar with generous capacity. Easy to clean and with no parts to assemble, this is the penultimate blender.
