Comment: The enormity of this thing simply cannot be overstated. If you have a normal sized stove, you should expect to lose the usage of one of your adjacent burners/elements.
It's so damn big that I'm not sure I'll use it that often. I expect I'll be happy to have it when I need it.

Comment: I bought a Lodge Logic 15" Cast Iron Skillet. Its amazing. I use to have a large family, but just my husband and myself now. Still, is wonderful. We love frying veggies from the garden; and with this I can do all at one time. And make extras, for my children and grandchildren. I've always loved cast iron; just never could find a skillet big enough, to fry a whole chicken in...and trust me, when the kids come here, time is of great value. lol...Anyone with a small or large family, would adore this one. Just what I've always wanted. Do enough grilled cheese sandwiches, for four, all at once. No waiting on pancakes, amazing.

Summary: Bad batch?
Comment: I ordered this skillet from Amazon and, when it arrived, I noticed that a small area around the handle seemed to be peeling. I'm not sure what it is that was peeling, but there is some black coating on this skillet and it was coming off. I requested a replacement through the website - a process which could not have been more enjoyable - and a replacement arrived 2 days later.
Unfortunately, not only did the second skillet have the same problem, it was worse! The peeling area had already started to rust, which was exactly what I was worried about and what prompted me to return the first skillet.
At this point, I called Amazon and a very nice customer service rep simply issued a refund and suggested that I buy the item locally to ensure it is free of defects. I'm not sure whether this was simply a bad batch or if Lodge's quality is slipping. I hope it is not the latter. I can't review the performance of the skillet itself, since I haven't used it yet, but I wanted to share my experience, for better or worse.

Comment: Lodge makes the BEST quality cast iron cookware. I own several other brands of cast iron and this is the skillet I use the most. I would buy this item again, I give it a AAA+++.

When feeding the whole family, you ll need this preseasoned skillet measuring 15-1/4 inches in diameter, with a 2-1/4 inch depth. Our seasoned cast iron cookware is pre-seasoned from the factory by a industrial strength gas oven. This kind of quality will last for generations.
