Customer Rating: Summary: Alton's Angle Comment: I bought this knife for my wifes birthday. She loves it. I plan to get her the whole set. They are wicked sharp!!! However your discription said it had Alton's likeness on the blade. It in fact did not. This may be trivial to some, but not me.
Customer Rating: Summary: Apparently no longer has AB's likeness on the Blade Comment: This knife is awesome, however it apparently no longer comes with Alton Browns cartoon image on the blade next to the Shun Logo.
Customer Rating: Summary: Angled 8-Inch Chef's Knife Comment: Outstanding knife! Great feel in the hand and, surprisingly, the angle of the blade (Alton Brown's design) seems to make slicing much easier. The blade is SHARP, as are all Shun knives. I now have 3 Shun knives and find I am ignoring all the Wustoff knives for them. And, they are beautiful (except this particular knife has a small Alton Brown graphic on the blade that looks a little silly!)
Customer Rating: Summary: This is how celebrity kitchen equipment SHOULD be done. Comment: I've never bought celebrity kitchen gear before, since so much of it is more about name recognition than actual quality. The Alton Brown Shun Angled Knife is an exception to the rule. It handles great, my wrist isn't sore after an evening of cooking, and the offset handle leaves plenty of room for my hand, so I don't smack my knuckles into the cutting board when I'm slicing through ingredients. The only bad thing I can say about this knife is that it has made me realize how dull and pathetic my old knife set is!

You don't need to be a Japanese sushi chef to appreciate the precision and lightness of this 8-inch Chef's knife. The long, slightly curved blade allows the home or pro chef to work in the efficient rolling motion for chopping and dicing, especially ideal for dense vegetables and fruits. The combination of extreme sharpness and unique, Damascus blade makes it an efficient choice for a lifetime of use.Made in the ancient city of Seki, Japan, Shun knives rely on extremely sharp blades, made of Japanese VG10 steel clad with 32 layers (16 on each side) of high-carbon stainless, it delivers precision slicing, cutting and chopping unprecedented by its competitors. Imagine, a knife made the same way as ancient Samurai swords, handcrafted still today. Sharper out of the box than other knives, the Shun Classic maintains its sharpness longer, since the finely-polished blade edge has a natural tendency to remain straighter, yet can be honed using a standard steel or sent to the factory for free sharpening. The wavy, Damascus-look pattern on the blade offers stick resistance, reducing prep--plus it's rust-free. The Alton Angle, a design contribution of cookbook author and celebrity chef Alton Brown, provides more finger and knuckle clearance than a standard, straight knife allows while cutting and slicing. The 10-degree angle at the bolster also provides extra leverage to improve control a
