Customer Rating: Summary: Great...for a few months Comment: Worked great for a few months, then the rain guage slowly quit connecting with the base...constantly had to push the search button. I'm not sure why we even still have the thing other than I hate throwing that much money in the trash. The outside temp guage did not last long in the outdoors weather. It quit working all together after about 5 months. The rain guage ONLY works now when pushing the search button. I'll be buying a new one for Christmas for my husband, but not from this company!
Customer Rating: Summary: Very disappointed Comment: I purchased Oregon Scientific "long range" rain gauge in October. The product description states a 300-ft transmitting range. I placed my rain gauge in the backyard with the receiver in the house no more than 30-feet away (and by a window, too!). In less than an hour the receiver no longer was getting the signal. This was after using brand new Energizer Max batteries, instead of the cheap ones provided. I tried re-booting the transmitter and receiver with them sitting next to each other (a minor annoyance having to remove the EIGHT screws to get to the batteries). The connection was quickly restored, so I returned the rain gauge back to its place outside. The receiver continued to maintain contact for about 35 minutes, but then lost it again. I am extremely unhappy with my purchase.
Customer Rating: Summary: We love it! Comment: We have not had one problem with ours. I'm so surprised so many people have had trouble. Ours is set up with the rain gauge outside on a post of the deck, the monitor in the kitchen and the transmitter halfway in between on the screened porch. We've had it almost one year and ...well, we live in North Georgia so we haven't nearly enough rain to fill up Lake Lanier. But this gauge has kept a very accurate account of what we have gotten. My husband still keeps the old glass tube and compares them to see if the new one is accurate and it appears to work fine!
Customer Rating: Summary: Frequent Signal Problems Comment: The results have been very disappointing with this unit: it loses the sensor signal on a regular basis (as frequently as once a week). Careful installation (signal check and leveling) did not prevent the problem. Not recommended.
Customer Rating: Summary: Oegon Scientific RGR 126 Rain Gauge Comment: The rain gauge itself worked very well and was acurate, but the outside temperature sensor never did work.
