Customer Rating: Summary: Saving my hands Comment: After making a lot of decorator frosting and having to sift the confectioner's sugar, I truly thought my hand was useless. I vowed to find something to help, and I found this. It works wonderfully, sifts in no time and is easy to clean.
Customer Rating: Summary: one design flaw Comment: This battery-operated sifter is deceptively compact - it holds a lot of flour. And the sifting is powerful. My only complaint is that the bottom is too wide. My previous battery-operated sifter had a funnel at the bottom which made it easy to direct the flour into a measuring cup. With this one, the flour goes way out beyond the cup. The wide bottom makes it possible for this one to stand up more securely, but I'd trade that for better aim.
Customer Rating: Summary: Sifter Comment: Not a really necessary item, but easy and fun to use. The battery has a very long life. WOULD RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE WITH HAND PROBLEMS.
Customer Rating: Summary: The better mousetrap Comment: I make banana breads 5 at a time. It's a great way to use bananas that have gone too ripe. I just pop them in the freezer and when I have enough, it's banana bread time. Okay, I know I am turning a healthy, albeit starchy fruit into an unhealthy sugar and oil laden belly buster but, hey, I hate to throw anything out. But I digress.
With all that flour to sift, the hand squeezer leaves me with a jonseing for Tylenol bigtime. My stupid husband told me that technologically the sifter is still where it ever was, you either crank or squeeze. In fact, a perusal of both kitchen supply stores and antique shops led me to believe that perhaps this one time, he was right. Until alas, I spotted the battery operated sifter on Amazon. Indeed the simple act of sifting flour has entered the 21st Century. I am thinking about new uses for sifted flour all the time now. Best of all, I got to once again prove my husband wrong. That alone was worth the price of the sifter. If I could only think of a reason to buy two, I would do so in a heartbeat.
Customer Rating: Summary: Where has this sifter been my whole life??? Comment: All I can say is "WOW"! I love making cakes & cupcakes but completely dread sifting two lbs. of conf. sugar for two batches of icing, mainly due to the time it takes and the fatigue that quickly sets in. I swear this sifter cut my sifting time down by 95% and all I had to do was hold it over a bowl!!! I'd definitely give this item an A+++++++!
