Summary: poor finish, decent utility
Comment: My first observation of this spoon was that it was not finished. There were rough spots and it appeared as if I had bought it from a street vendor in Mexico. Obvious tool carving marks and areas of raised wood fiber. Its sad to have to finish sanding a tool these days. I bought a five piece bamboo set a Fred Meyers for about 8 bucks and they were better finished than this. Having said this though; the spoon was appreciated for its ability to "finish" the risotto. It does work well and is stout enough for larger quantities.
